Eagerly waiting for W10M update. Why not just use the Insiders app to get the update? The won't be upgraded to 10 that been told get l in November.
We're in the same boat. From what i've seen on Gabe Auls twitter we won't get the official update. He stated that these devices didn't get a good feedback on the update and it doesn't look like they will push it for us, it's even unlikely that there will be a 2nd wave of updates.
As for the Insider updates we should get them until the Redstone update goes live for phones and after that we are done Heck even more recent devices didn't all got have flying colors.
Its just the optimization issue that sadly becoming less and less these days. Some of the devices in that list were also on entry-level specs but just more recent. In these days were Windows Phone devices market share dropped sharply and so does users confidence.
Older devices not getting the upgrade despite they're technically able to have W10M, just makes the situation sour. Heck even some people claim they don't have problem on their devices showing how random the issue is in W10M general.
Microsoft drowned us. Can't find the upgrade advisor in store. Right, but it says I need to have W10 to install it. You have to get the latest version of the Upgrade Advisor app from the store to get the update - that is if you're running the older UpdateAdvisor app. No Lumia upgrade path. Microsoft, what are you playing at?! Microsoft will never succeed in the smartphone space with this diabolical strategy.
Give it time. There will be more phones added to the list. Eventually it probably will. Lumia , still no update in Palestine, guess it's the country waves thing. It's probably your carrier restricting it, as the carriers have to approve it beforehand. I have a Lumia in Egypt, currently no sim card in it and I received the update using wifi only.

Great, they skipped over both the and Both the handsets my household owns. Such a huge oversight by Microsoft. The only came off sale in the UK about 9 months ago! Microsoft really are a difficult company to like. There is no Upgrade Advisor in the store.
This all phones are having 1gb ram. But When microsoft will launch windows 10 for phones having mb ram??? I think you can start looking for a newer model Just use the Windows Insider app and get W10 on you mb device.

Why do you say they'll likely update the list of supported devices? From reading the blog posts and twitter accounts, this is it. No other device models will be getting Windows 10 carrier versions of phones in that list might. Damage control. It's already confirmed by Microsoft that the older devices won't be upgraded. It matters because I have an unlocked version and it says that my phone is upgradeable but not yet because mobile carrier and phone manufacturer Lumia Seems like a bug with l Step 1: don't. Why not just use the insider preview on your until you find the right flagship? While my runs 10 fine my was buggy, it would work fine, but it just wasnt smooth as 8. First of all the link in the article takes you to a page with white background that describes "update advisor" not "upgrade advisor"! Second tapping on the Get the App box does nothing whatsoever!!!! Lumia dual SIM on W8. You havve to go to the web page at microsoft blog and click it on the blue here link and then log in and then download.
Again it did not work on the store for me as it wouldnt even show up, thats the ipdateadvisor. No offence but microsoft need to make sure all these processes work and be very clear and consise in how to do it. This is not a smooth upgrade at all! Icon said same thing. The is on the list, the Icon is not. But that doesn't mean that the will get it today, or maybe ever since we are dealing with Verizon. And then it tells me that w10m is available. BUT do you really need the upgrade advisor app first? Isn't that what the upgrade advisor app is telling you to do anyways? Or does it downloand and install some type of pre-upgrade update to allow the phone to actually get the upgrade?
AA is just let your phone download and install update. What did you expect? This is Microsoft we are talking about. Can't find update advisor. I guess there is no way to know which 8. Is Microsoft is a software gaint but coming into building mobiles, its becoming least in the fellow competators. Search upgrade advisor instead of update advisor in store. That's not going to happen. Gabe Aul pretty much confirmed this is the definitive list. Once again, Microsoft fails to deliver. The app says my phone is eligible L , but they're still "working with my provider ATT " to get the update. Same but I have 4 career.
Same here but I got my from a normal electronics store and not from a carrier The download link is grayed out via the link provided. How the hell did you guys install this? Edit: nvm, solved it. Put my browser in mobile site mode and voila. Gotta love the troubleshooting whenever Microsoft releases something.

I followed many of the links provided with end results being "You can't get this app. This page is for info only" WTF, why so difficult!!! Yes my browser is set to "mobile". Access Windows Central's website on your phone's browser, go to the article that explains how to upgrade, there will be a link in the article that takes you to the store page to download the app.

I have the Lumia which I bought from Saturn in Germany so it is unlocked and there is no carrier "drama" attached to it. When I run the Upgrade Advisor it says that my phone is eligible but they are working with my mobile operator and phone manufacturer in order for me to get my upgrade.

Select slow ring. After your phone restarts, go to settings and click on updates. I'm with Lumia wp 10 build. Screen turns off when making a call so i cannot end the call unless i turn the screen back on manually. In wp 8. On wp 10 double tap won't wake up the phone, On wp 8. WP 10 - battery drains quicker than wp 8. Will these devices get w10m? Why is it not available on my ? Does it depend on network as well? No : crap. I see but no upgrade advisor in store. Lumia updated - check! Wife's Lumia updated - pending approval. So what's about build who's better? The UpdateAdvisor doesn't show in store and there is no way I can download it. Go to the store on your phone, search upgrade advisor, install it and run it. You will get it for sure. Whether you'll get win 10 is a different matter which I can't answer as I don't remember whether is eligible for it. Not yet it's an older phone so they might have to go through more testing. All the operating systems it went through though, Amber, Black, Cyan and Denim. I have been with MS since the Samsung Blackjack Bought a new phone to have W I am not buying another MS phone just to get another OS update. I have held on long enough for the apps to gain ground and it all seems to be going backwards.
Well the reason for the from 7 to 8 was the different kernel that the two OSs ran,. Just upgraded l to w10m but can't unlock phone because no keyboard is showing. I don't know what to do After upgrading to Windows 10 Mobile, remember to update all critical windows apps through the Windows Store. Drop those antiques and get with current hardware!

I havent checked out the camera photo or video yet but ive been through my normal apps a few games and a few extra apps and not only do they all work but the os has in 1 foul swoop become super smooth, i dont get that loading screen on anything on my Im very impressed with the os so great job there mocrosoft.
My only concern is that the app to update was not on the mobile windows store and as such they really need to specify the difference between the mobile store and the web version of the store. They need to be more carefull on these things cause it takes away alot from what is on my a fantastic, smooth and pleasurable experience. PS I still dont like hamburger and i miss gestures beta too. Not !!!! I just can go to the settings and check for the phone update. Can't upgrade my XL DUAL sim CV hk no idea why just first time it was all ok to get an error number and did an hard reset for try without the external card and now appears there that must wait, the weird part is that already was downloading it in the afternoon and when did hard reset get the message that need to wait for the upgrade.

This is a Witch Hunt. I guess its time to move out of Micorsoft. How much data would we need.. I've just got the M8 because it was in the list of updatebale and it's the only unibody metal WM device. And I don't like the situation with Lumias. MS posted on Twitter that every Lumia will be updated. So it was the official statement. It is NOW ok to change things now. It is a day after 17, I have L and nothing!
I have a Lumia but i can't upgrade my phone to Windows I think RAM is not the reason why some older Lumias are not getting the update. Also it may be a strategy of Microsoft to force the owners of older Lumias to switch to newer phones. But, I guess, Microsoft does not command that sort of authority because people will switch. They should have developed an alternate version of Windows 10 mobile for older Lumias.
Considering the nearly negligible market share of Windows phones, that seems the only right step. But, many things are going on inside Microsoft that are kept hidden from us and that may have caused this to happen. For people with money, buying a new phone is like buying a new toy. Guess what, not everyone has that sort of money. If sticking with your perfectly fine older phone means getting stuck at an older OS, so be it. Works rather nicely on my L, much better than what I had with preview builds.

Check whether you have 32 or 64 bit OS. Now create a new shortcut for the Chrome application on the desktop. Right-click on Chrome and click send to desktop. Once you click on the Advanced option you will get another window named Advanced Security Settings.
Here click on the Change Option. This means saving all the changes you have made. Now try to open Google Chrome, it will open and work properly if not then restart your computer and check. Delete the older shortcut of chrome from the Start menu, Taskbar, and replace it with a Modified one.
The latest version of Windows 10 has some compatibility issues and it can stop Chrome from opening. This method will help if the Chrome shortcut is corrupt by any other program. You should try it before following the other methods mentioned below. Double click to open the newly created shortcut and you would be able to launch Google Chrome. One of the best features of Google Chrome is that it updates itself in the background without any prompt. Sometimes a problem occurs when chrome tries to update itself to a newer version, if the update fails then Chrome will be unstable.
As you can see in the above image chrome has 2 versions in the Application folder Open both folders and check which has less number of files, if the older version has less no. These versions may be different on your computer, at the time of writing this article Chrome had the above versions installed into my computer.
Anyway just find the latest version of Google Chrome and copy-paste the files accordingly. Find and delete chrome. Deleting this DLL file removes all the older settings of google chrome.
Download Firefox or Edge browsers, If Edge and Firefox browsers are working then you need to check Chrome in safe mode. Boot your windows in safe mode and check if Chrome is able to open or not. If safe mode works then there are some windows services that are causing the issue. You need to disable certain services and try and test to find which Windows service is responsible for the chrome issue.
Download google chrome offline installer and install it in normal mode. If you have upgraded your Windows PC from Windows 7, 8. Locate the Chrome shortcut on the desktop. Right-click on the Shortcut and Click Properties then select the Compatibility tab.
Download Chrome Cleanup Tool using a different browser obviously and locate the downloaded program and double-click to open it. Clean up tool will scan for the conflicting program, if it does find any such program then it is recommended to uninstall those programs.
The cleanup tool will try to open and reset Chrome settings. Try this fix before trying other mentioned fixes. If you have an antivirus program installed then try to turn it off temporarily and check if you are able to open Google Chrome. Once restarted try to open Chrome and check if it is working.
System restore can revert back the settings to an older date when Chrome was working. This will also uninstall the programs and updates which were installed after a restore point. A successful restore can revert the changes and Chrome should work again. Bear in mind system restore will also remove every software and setting created after the restore point. All the above-mentioned methods helped thousands of users to fix the Google Chrome not opening issue, you need to try different fixes for your computer, any of the above fixes may work for you.
